At Just like Mommy Childcare, I provide a safe, loving, educational and nurturing environment for your child just as you would. I understand going back to work is a very difficult time for moms and my goal is to make it a smooth and easy transition for you and your child.
I will help to develop your childs fine and gross motor skills through educational toys, as well as help to broaden their imagination through arts and crafts.
Infant Care 6-18 months:
In the first year and a half, my goal is to offer infants in my care a variety of opportunities to explore their environment. The brain is an important muscle and like any other muscle, it needs to be exercised in order to grow strong and flourish. A wide range of age appropriate activities will challenge your infant as they learn about common objects, develop their vocabulary and form secure attachments with me as their caregiver.
Examples of some fun activities I offer will include:
Finger painting with pudding, jello and edible paints
Reading and looking at books about basic concepts like families, animals, shapes and colours
Singing songs and doing finger plays
Tummy time, push toys and low, soft climbers
Neighbourhood walks and play time in the yard
Lots of cuddles and conversation
Daily naps
These are just a few of the activities your child can look forward to in my care!
Our daily timetable is flexible to allow each infant to follow their own schedule while ensuring they benefit from all the various aspects of day to day childcare.
I offer an Integration period:
To make this transition as easy and comfortable as possible for you and your child, the week before your child starts, I like to do 3 days of visits with both of you for a few hours in order to acclimate your child to being in a new place with new people. Slowly bringing them into a new environment and including a parent assists with the comfort level of the child once you return to work and he/she is now in full day child care. The first day, one parent will accompany the child for 1-2 hours in the morning, the second day for 2-3 hours including lunch time, and the third day of integration will be a half day either morning or afternoon. This integration period allows you and your child to ease into a big change in both of your lives and helps mom and child feel more comfortable.
I provide only fresh homemade meals and snacks.
