Hello Families,
I am a certified elementary teacher with an honors degree in Childhood and Social Institutions and Sociology with up to date First Aid/CPR. I am currently on maternity leave with my first child until November. I am starting my own childcare business in the small community of Iona (close to Shedden, Fingal, Dutton, Wallacetown) and am looking for families who value quality care for their children. I live on a large, fully fenced property with easy access to the 401. My home is smoke-free and pet-friendly, but animals can be kept separate from the childcare setting.
After having my beautiful daughter, I have decided to stay home and provide quality, educational care for local children. I started teaching dance at a young age so I have dedicated much of my life to teaching. I have been working with kindergarten children in a licensed setting for the past 3 years and have found a true passion in getting to know the families I work with. Having been in kindergarten classrooms I am familiar with the structure and routines followed at school. I will offer a similar setting with engaging centres, but with more flexibility and individualized attention to ease the transition into kindergarten and maximize the enjoyment of the children. Learning will be play-based and child-directed.
I will offer two nutritious snacks each day and a well-balanced lunch. Children will be given the opportunity for ample indoor and outdoor exploration as well as sensory experience.
