Description

Caregiver Qualifications
• Certified Early Childhood Educator Level III - Diploma in Early Childhood Education

• Hanen “Teacher Talk” Training

Philosophy & Goals
Each child within my care will have their social, physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional needs fostered within a warm and loving environment, through open-ended, child-directed, explorative play and activity. Children will engage in meaningful experiences, learn to ask questions, and represent what they learn through a variety of mediums. I will take on a role of collaborator and facilitator of the children’s learning as we engage in projects directed by the curiosities of the children. Learning will be hands-on and inquiry based. Children will be allowed to make messes, get dirty, and challenge themselves. Independence will be encouraged.
Learning to be respectful, responsible, and compassionate individuals is a pillar of my program. By being engaged in meaningful, natural experiences, children will be on their way to becoming life-long learners, and should be better prepared to enter the school system. I will provide plenty of opportunity for free, imaginative play. Circle times will be a part of a daily routine, where we will read stories, sing songs, collaborate on projects, etc.
Experiences essential for early childhood education, and present in Cherry Tree’s Early Learning program:
• Love and warmth - creates the basis for development
• Care for the environment and nourishment for the senses
• Creative, artistic experience
• Meaningful adult activity as an example for children’s imitation
• Free, imaginative play
• Gratitude, reverence, and wonder
• Joy, humour, and happiness

*Healthy, balanced, and nutritious meals and snacks*
