Welcome to Hummingbird Home Daycare! My name is Amanda, and I have more than ten years of experience working with children of all ages in a number of settings.
I offer safe and loving home-based care for children ages 6 months to 8 years old. At Hummingbird Home Daycare your child will enjoy a semi-structured program, with a balance of free-play as well as teacher-led activities. Your child will enjoy arts and crafts, games, reading/storytelling, singing, music, drama, movement, trips to the local Ontario Early Years Centre, playground, nature hikes and more.
Children will have the use of the main floor of our warm, clean house as well as two bright above-ground basement rooms dedicated to the daycare. We also have a very large backyard with mature trees, climber, swing set and outdoor toys.
I believe in modelling and fostering the values of kindness, respect and fairness with children. I am comfortable maintaining firm and loving boundaries and familiar routines that enable children to learn, grow, play and explore.

We do have a hypo-allergenic, non-shedding, loving and gentle golden-doodle named Annie in our home. She is not allowed in the daycare rooms. She can also be kept entirely separate from children if a parent or child would prefer. |
