Welcome to my page and thank you for considering me for child care for your children.
Here is a little about me. I have been living in Waterdown with my husband for the past four years and we absolutely love it! I have a beautiful baby boy, Jake and there is nothing I find more rewarding then being a mom.
I am so excited to be starting my own in home child care and following my passion for teaching and caring for children.
From music to arts to math and the daily calendar our days will be filled with many learning opportunities. Out basement is set up with different play stations including an art station, a reading nook, infant play and a music station. Our programming will also include 2 outdoor play times (weather permitting) of an hour long each. Our outdoor play equipment includes slides, sports equipment and ride on toys. I welcome any suggestions for toys or activities that you think your child may enjoy.
Our days will begin in the morning with a morning circle time to talk about the day, the weather and to review our numbers, letters and the theme of the week. Followed by free play then followed by a snack. After snack we will head outside for a walk around the neighbourhood and come back for some outdoor free play. After our outdoor play we will sit down for a lunch together and once our food has settled we will settle down for nap time. Once the children are awake we will complete and activity/craft that reflects our weekly theme. After we have cleaned up from our activity the children will have free play time. Once it gets closer to the end of the day we will head outside for our final outdoor free play while we wait for mommy or daddy to arrive.
Health and nutrition will always be integrated in to our meals. Our meals will be inclusive of the recommended daily ammounts from the Canadian Food Guide. We will include foods that perhaps children may not have tried before and part of our programming will be incorporating the children in assisting to make their snacks and meals tp give them a hands on learning experience.
I enjoy being active and participating in theatre arts which will both be an integeral part of my programming.
I am currently enrolled in Algonquin College completing my Early Childhood Education diploma.
I am also first aid and CPR certified for infants, children and adults.
