I am currently doing drop-in and alternate care and I also have full time and part time spaces available. The drop in rate is as follows; care under 3hrs is $15.00 per child, under 4hrs is $20, under 5hrs is $25, under 6hrs is $30 and $35.00 for a full day (6-10hrs).My hours of operation for full/part time children are 7:30-6:00. I have been working with children since 1998 when I did my grade 11 co-op at a daycare. I knew that children were my passion and childcare was my calling.
I was hired immediately out of High School at Churchill Carling Daycare. While working full time I took my E.C.E. at Algonquin College at night. I was initially hired as the Toddler Programs Assistant Teacher and worked my way up the ladder till I was eventually promoted to the Kindergarten and School Age Program Supervisor. However after working in a private for profit centre for 6 years, I felt it was time for a change. I resigned and took time off to get my Teaching English as a Second Language certificate.
I was then hired by the Ottawa School Day Nurseries at their Carlington KGT/SA program as the head school age teacher and assistant supervisor and until I moved to Perth is 2008.
Since then I have volunteered at Stewart School in the Kindergarten class as well as at the Connections Playgroup. I was also the playgroup facilitator at Sprigs N' Tots from July 2012 to May 2013. Prior to opening my daycare in August 2013, I have been a stay at home mom of a preschooler.
Literacy, numeracy and science are some of my strengths as a teacher. Music and movement are a big part of our day as well. Social emotional development, conflict resolution, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and effective communication are key skills I try to teach on a daily basis. We have daily outdoor play (weather permitting) or attend playgroup on Tuesday's and Thursday's. Allergy alert, I am not a nut free home and I also have 3 kid friendly cats.
