I am Kristin, a home daycare provider in Welland. I currently have 1 spaces available for 2 and up. I am offering flexible hours to help accommodate shift work as well as overnight care.I like to keep numbers low to provide the best and most individualized care for your children.
I am a mom of 3 wonderful children, Kiera 7 and Caden 2 years and Hudson 1 year with my husband Joe. I have taken Educational Assistant and Special Needs Support. I have worked in the schools as an Educational Assistant but have been working with individuals with aquired brain injuries for the past 12 years. I have made lesson plans and have the ability to modify them to different levels. I have a passion for children and working with kids and have been doing so for over 20 years.
We have tons of space to play and learn. We have converted the upstairs of our home into the daycare space. With some nice large windows (means lots of sunlight!) So we are not in a basement all day like a lot of daycares. It is also important to us to get out of the house as much as possible, walks outside/to the park, play in the backyard there is just so much to learn out there!
While in my care your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, which promote all aspects of development. Family childcare provides for children the comfort and experience of belonging to an extended family. I provide a home like setting which I believe helps foster the growth of children. I believe children learn through play and benefit from a structured yet flexible schedule. My approach to childcare is child centered and child directed. Children are offered choices whenever possible which I find helps with the development of self-esteem. We have many outdoor activities and walks as nature is such a wonderful teacher. In nice weather we will have lots of outdoor play (toys, games, water play, etc.) and walks outside (ex. To park). We will be doing crafts daily (some will be completed over a few days). We will also be using worksheets for older children. Your child will bring home a newsletter each month, which will give a brief overview of what we will be doing.
I provide nutritionally balance meals and snacks for your child following the Canada Food Guide. Meals and snacks are served family style. Children are encouraged to use this time to share their experiences with each other. Manners are taught, and practiced during this time as well.

Dog friendly home-we have 2 dogs, both have been brought up with children and LOVE kids. Sahara is our black Labradoodle who is 10 years old, she gets excited when people come to the door but soon calms and loves giving kisses. Our puppy Izzy is 2 years old and is a Golden Doodle Mini. I find Doodles are wonderful with kids and instinctually know that they are little and to be careful. They will be kept is a separate area during childcare hours so that I can provide the best care for your children. They will be let out during quiet time to spend time with me. They have been certified as healthy by a veterinarian and are current on all immunizations.
