I am a loving and patient mother of a 3. I have run a daycare for 4 years. My husband and I are non-smokers and I have a Bachelor of Arts majoring in sociology.
I offer a caring, nurturing, safe and stimulating environment. I believe children need a somewhat structured day filled with free play, songs and music, dancing, books, crafts, sensory play, outdoor play, rest, and lots of TLC.
Our home has a large, bright and clean playroom and the rest of our home is also childproofed. Our backyard is fenced, we are in walking distance to splash pads and we are next door to a large park. We play outside everyday, weather permitting.
I provide 2 nutritious snacks and lunch each day following the Canada food guide.
I am a member of the Childcare Providers Resource Network where I attend childcare classes and workshops including:
Helping Children Behave Well/Setting Consequences
Toddler Play
Developing Fine Motor Skills
I believe there is always more to learn, therefore I am committed to attending any workshops and classes that will refresh or expand my skills with caring for children.
CPR/First Aid certification (updated regularly)
Clear criminal record check for myself and husband
Fully insured
Safety checklist done monthly (Smoke alarms/carbon monoxide detectors tested, etc)
My hours are 7-5 Monday to Friday. I will also accommodate a teacher schedule.
We do have a family dog that has grown from a puppy with our children. He is always up to date with vaccinations. He is very loving and gentle with children, however he will be separate from the children and daycare area at all times.
