I just graduated from bow valley college with my level 2 child care certficate. I am looking to open up a private day home so I can accommodate night time care and longer hours. I am looking to see who is interested in enrolling before I sign the lease on the home. It's 4 bedrooms 3.5 baths. With a fenced backyard. I do have a dog that's very good with kids. I can provide a police clearance and accommodate long schedules and night time care. I follow emergent curriculum and plan based on a child's interest. Outdoor time would be daily as I believe it is very important for children. I can provide references my main strength is building relationships with children and parents. I have two god daughters that I watch all the time and love kids. I believe that children can solve a lot of there own problems with some guidance. So disciplinary styles I like to acknowledge both children's emotions and help them come to the solution themselves. I don't do time outs or shamming of children but I will separate children when it gets out of hand and let them cool down then come back and talk about it together. With bigger problems I will talk to all parents and come up with a solution everyone is comfertable with together. I have an open door policy. Snack and food will be provided and I will accommodate for allergies . Peanut free environment.
Admission conditions
My home would be a non smoking home. Peanut free. Their is a dog that is very good with kids. At enrollment and admission there will be contracts to sign with parents about payment, late fees and such.
