Hello and welcome to Mrs. Aiken's House!
I currently am taking interviews for openings in late August/ September of 2019 as three of my friends graduate on to Junior Kindergarten at that time.
I will have room for one under- two child.
I will have my own little JK'er (summer only), a three year old girl and a two year old girl in my care to welcome your children into our group.
I am an experienced Registered Early Childhood Educator, and parent who has spent over eight years working in licensed childcare centres and in schools in the Full Day Kindergarten Program. I am excited to be offering a nurturing childcare experience right in my home.
I provide developmentally appropriate programming working from the ELECT document and following inquiry- based learning philosophies to support all areas of development in children of all ages. In a day we will have indoor and outdoor structured and unstructured play, circle time, songs and dancing, dramatic play, arts and crafts, science and sensory exploration.
As well, I love outdoor scientific exploration and am located close to parks and playgrounds where children can play with others, safely explore nature with guidance, and enjoy the outdoors. However, our fenced, well equipped, and spacious backyard offers plenty of opportunities to play and observe local wild life (we have a family or two of cardinals, plenty of blue jays and the occasional chipmunk visit us!).
I offer child- approved healthy snacks and hot meals, a supportive approach to toilet training, and time for children to rest to meet their needs.
I am located in the school zones for Stittsville Public School, St. Stephen Catholic School, and Grant Alternative School, and Jean Paul II elementary school.
