Smarty Pants Preschool, a charming and unique home daycare in Manotick.
I am an Ontario Certified Elementary School Teacher, and a Mom, with experience teaching Kindergarten and working with preschool aged children at Early Years Learning Centers.
The learning component I incorporate is an introduction to Ontario's Full-Day Kindergarten Program. It is a balance of exploration and guided instruction through play-based learning. Parents receive outlines of planned learning which integrates literacy, numeracy, science & tech, art, music and movement. Each preschooler receives a communication book highlighting our adventures, activites and special moments and parents receive photos and videos throughout the week!
Our learning space encompasses 500 square feet of indoor space with plenty of natural light (smoke/pet free) and an acre of fenced outdoor space. Parents are provided with seasonal menus listing the healthy meals and snacks that are served. We walk to the local library for story time and to a playgroup run by the Global Child Care Corporation.
