I have 22 years experience with children from ages 0-12 years old. Babysitting for various families and working as an Infant teacher in a daycare centre fro the past 8 years. I recently became a Mom and since then have decided to open a structured daycare in my home. With the love of children and the knowledge I have gained over the years seemed like the perfect foundation, to create a place where children could feel at home. a place to be a kid, build new friendships, sing songs and listen to stories. A place where the children can put those creative little minds to work with daily arts and crafts. Also, spend time outside taking nature walks, play in the park and observing the great outdoors. Everyday will be a fun and exciting adventure.
I am energetic, fun, positive, understanding , easy going, also a very calm and nurturing person. And look forward to meeting families with similar characteristics.
My teaching philosophy is to plan a structured curriculum based on the child's immediate interests.
My weekly planning covers circle time ( sing songs, read stories, go over the weather, calendar and any special occasions) Arts and crafts based on our theme of the week) sensory and fine/gross motor skills.
I have a fully fenced in yard with large grassy area, deck and awning for shade. I have outside toys, balls, sandbox with various different shovels and buckets. And kiddie pools to cool off on a hot summers day.
I offer healthy home cooked meals. Various fruits, vegetables and lean meats. I create my menu based on the Canadian food guide. I do not serve juice, but do make smoothies as an alternative.
I offer daily information reports and weekly receipts.
