Giggles N’ Scribbles dayhome is my family-based private dayhome. Prior to opening the dayhome I was a nanny for a number of years and I also have years of experience as a youth mentor. I grew up in the dayhome my mother ran here in Millrise for over 30 years and I am now the proud mama of 2.
I have a clean, smoke free home we share with our loving dog. We are just blocks away from Our Lady of Peace School and across from an open field and a greenbelt and just jumps away from a playground.
I have Standard First Aid, Emergency Child & Infant First Aid and CPR Level C as well as a current police check. I also have excellent references.
I run the dayhome on the main floor of my home and I structure the weeks similarly to most preschools with story-time, arts and crafts, science experiments, circle time (with plays, bubbles, songs and music) and I also include obstacle courses, sensory play, sports, imaginary play and a variety of other creative activities. We have an established routine that also includes free play.
We have outdoor time in our yard each day (weather permitting) and a developed basement equipped with a bounce house and an additional toy room for the really cold and rainy days. We have themed weeks such as ‘our senses’, ‘weather’, ‘spring’ or ‘the farm’ and we also have special days from time to time such as ‘Teddy Bear Picnic’, ‘Pajama Day’, ‘Crazy Hair Day’ and ‘Drive-in Movie Day’.
I provide a fresh and healthy breakfast and lunch as well as 3 snacks throughout the day. I can also easily cater to gluten and dairy sensitivities.
I believe in creating an atmosphere that is a home away from home for the children and an environment that is safe, loving, healthy and nurturing and encouraging. I want the children to have positive experiences, thrive in the joy and enjoy being themselves. I value very much learning good manners and becoming a great friend as well. |

We have small dog who is loving and calm and a basic comfort level with dogs is best. I require all children in the dayhome to have up to date vaccinations. |
