Hello!
I currently have spaces available in my cozy home daycare in a safe and family friendly area of St James, located less than 5 minutes drive from Polo Park mall and close to many parks & playgrounds, as well as the local library. We are also easily accessible by public transit.
I am a qualified educator with previous experience with children aged from 6 months to 6 years old.
I also have clear criminal record & child abuse registry checks. (Renewing soon).
I offer 2 nutritionally balanced snacks each day, and ask that a lunch be packed and sent from home.
We have a flexible daily routine which includes both structured learning activities as well as free play sessions, with lots of one-on-one time in a small group setting. Our indoor toys are on a weekly rotation for variety.
We do arts, crafts, imaginative play and dress up, and have outdoor play times twice daily (weather permitting) in our fully fenced, good sized yard. Our yard has a sand/water table, playhouse, small slide/structure, and cozy coupes for outdoor play, learning and exploration.
We also have occasional "treat" days such as pizza day, or pajama day on the last day before Christmas break, as well as picnic days during the summer months.
With my play based program, I work on teaching numbers, letters, vocabulary, social skills and manners, as well as promoting the development of independence, creativity, fine and gross motor skills, emotional and cognitive development.
All activities are tailored to suit each childs individual needs & developmental stage, and allow the child to learn at his or her own pace.
My daycare program runs Monday-Friday, from 7:30am - 5:00pm.
These are the maximum operating hours; earlier drop offs and/or later pick ups are unfortunately unavailable.
Smoke-free, pet-friendly (cat/dog) environment.
No animals are ever allowed in the daycare nap/rest area.
All animals are kept up to date on shots/health checks.
Our focus is on learning while having fun!
