I am a former Speech-Language Pathologist who worked with young children from birth up through 6th grade. One of my favorite things to do was help little ones grow their language skills through play. I believe strong play and language skills are important for future academic skills.
I am currently homeschooling my three children (aged 8 girl, 12 boy, and 14 boy) and would love to welcome 2 little ones into our home for full-time care during the day.
We live in a house in Meadowvale (Winston Churchill/Britannia) and have a fenced in yard and play space in the basement.
I would provide an educationally-rich and play-based environment. I believe that learning happens best when I follow a child's lead. There will be opportunities for lots of pretend play, hands-on messy learning, art, growing things in the dirt, helping bake/cook, and more. As a trained Speech-Language Pathologist I naturally weave learning into these day-to-day activities without the children realizing that they are learning something.
I'm open to children with special needs or an infant, but want to limit the total amount of spots to 2 children so I can provide the individual attention that children need.
Rates: $40 day for age 18 months and up, $45 day for under 18 months, and $50 day for special needs
