If you're looking for a fun, nurturing and creativity-stimulating home day care for your child to spend time at while you're at work, come take a look at ours.
I run a full-day(or half-day) care five days a week from 7:00am - 5pm for a small group of children. My age preference is 2-6, since my child is somewhere in that age group but I may consider taking a slightly older tot as well. I have teaching experience working with pre-school age and early school-age children and I regularly volunteer at my daughter's school.
Our spacious main floor features a toy-filled playroom with books and lots of craft materials always ready to be worked with. We have an open carpeted area for playing, reading/private nook tent, cozy couches for reading or games and lots of open-ended toys to make up our own games with. I rotate toys on a weekly basis as well to keep the children entertained. Small wooden tables and chairs make for a great craft/eating area and they are easy to rearrange into any kind of setup we need for our activities. I have different themed activities prepared for each day, balanced by regular free-play and quiet time.
When weather permits, we spend time in our large, grassy yard, where the little ones can play in a tent-sand pit, on a seesaw, water picnic table or with other outdoor toys. We also have a wading pool so on hot days, if the parents are fine with it, we can have some splash-filled fun in the sun. A playground is a short walk from our house, as is the brand new splash pad.
I offer a hot lunch and a nutritious snack on a daily basis at regular times of the day. Our kitchen offers me a full view of the play area, so it is easy for me to fix up food while overlooking the children's play.
We don't have any dogs or cats but we do have two fluffy guinea pigs. They live in the office so the children don't have to come in contact with them, though if allergies are not an issue, they are fun to watch and feed :)
