I focus on play based learning and encouraging each child to learn and develop while having fun and experiencing things hands on. I love creating fun activities that incorporate learning opportunities as well as letting the children explore and discover through play. We spend a lot of time outside and go to the park everyday, weather permitting. Nature is a big part of our program and we often incorporate it into our art projects, focusing primarily on the process of creating rather than the final product. We also spend a lot of time exploring nature through nature walks, caring for our garden, raising caterpillars, and more. I also try to keep vareity in our routine by having classes come to the daycare as well as plan outings (all within walking distance). Some examples of those activities are weekly music/dance classes that come to us. Currently we have a weekly music class through locomotion music and we do a summer salsa tots session. We also do many walking fieldtrips including the local fire station, chinguacousy park, wee wigglers classes with Coach Chatty and more.
