I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator with more than 20 years of experience working with children in various capacities. I am trained in First Aid and CPR.
Nature & Nurture Home Playcare fosters children’s growth through a high quality program with a focus on outdoor exploration, caring for the environment and each other, community connection, active play, music and movement, gardening/growing some of our own food, art exploration, messy play, and quiet moments in a homey environment that is safe, warm and fun.
As an educator, I am calm, loving, patient, playful, creative, proactive and passionate about what I do. Some of my inspirations as an educator are the Reggio Emilia Approach, Forest Schools, Raffi Cavoukian's Child Honouring, and Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences theory.
Nature & Nurture Home Playcare is situated in a sweet little home with an enclosed backyard in Old Ottawa East (close to Old Ottawa South, the Glebe--especially now with the new Flora Footbridge--and Sandy Hill). It is walking distance to a number of parks, the Children's Garden, the Museum of Nature, and the Sunnyside Branch of the Ottawa Public Library.

In addition to having a full-time space open, I have a temporary part-time space available as well. Please inquire if you would like more details.
Unfortunately, I am unable to accommodate families with allergies to feathers due to having feather-stuffed couches.
I offer vegetarian (mostly vegan) snacks and meals, so I also am unable to accommodate children with allergies to legumes, peanuts, nuts, seeds, nor soy because these are some of our main staples and forms of protein. |
