I'm an Ontario Certified Teacher on extended maternity leave with 8 years experience as an FDK teacher (k-grade 6 certified). I have early years and special education qualifications along with a background in tutoring. It's been my dream to open up a natural childcare centre and this January my dream is coming true.
In our home childcare we serve whole foods and believe food is what heals us and should also be an entire experience. Therefore, children are invited in the seed to table process with our very own veggie garden and cooking involvement. Being inspired by the Reggio and Montessori approaches, I take pride in having the environment as the third teacher and am inspired in nature and natural authentic play experiences. We have a child dedicated play space as well as a beautiful open yard along the whites junction trail for adventures. We align our philosophy and curriculum with a four frames approach and emphasis on:
•belonging and contributing
•self regulation and well being
•communicating and demonstrating literacy and mathematical behaviours
•problem solving and innovating
All in natural and authentic play based activities, journeys and adventures.
