My name is Kristen; I am a 35 year old mother of 2. I have my ECE (Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators) and am a certified teacher (Bachelor of Education/Member of the Ontario College of Teachers). I have many years of experience working with children; I have worked for a variety of daycare/childcare programs, been a daycare supervisor with the YMCA of Niagara, as well as, worked for the District School Board of Niagara. I have my police reference, as well as I am up to date with my CPR/First Aid.
The goals of my program are to include a routine based environment, yet with the flexibility to accommodate the moods and energy levels of the children in a loving home environment. Living within walking distance to parks and the Ontario Early Years Centre, we will enjoy outings as weather permits. A large fenced in back yard will also allow for daily outside time weather permitting. From free play to circle time, lunch to quiet/nap time and crafts to a daily group activity, I am looking to provide a variety of fun and safe experiences for your child. With 2 large areas designated for daycare use, there will be plenty of space and variety of toys for every child.
I have always had a passion and love for working with and caring for children for as long as I can remember. I went to Seneca College for my ECE, and loved it and had hoped to one day own my own daycare. So I furthered my education at Brock University, and studied Child and Youth Studies followed by my Bachelor of Education. After working both in the childcare and education fields and outside of it, and becoming a mother, I have a much more rounded idea of what I would like my childcare program to look like. |
