I am a teacher finishing a part of my home to be used as a licensed home daycare opening in May.
I have a degree in science/psychology and Bachelor of Education in elementary school. I have taught in New Brunswick since 2009, and I am licensed to teach in Ontario, but I have decided that operating my own business is how I will continue to work with children.
I have been working with children in community centers and summer programs since I graduated high school and then went on to teach children of all ages, which gives me a unique perspective on early childcare. I must say, I do enjoy structure and plans, so there will be planned activities daily that will include some sort of learning component to help prepare children for school. There is also a lot of importance in unstructured play and the learning opportunities it holds for young children. We will be outdoors for 2 hours a day which is mandated by the ministry (weather permitted).
Jill's Play to Learn Licensed Home Daycare will be opening in Carleton Place from 7 am to 5:30 pm and providing two snacks and one homemade nutritious lunch. I currently have 3 spots available for 2 years and older.
Please contact me if you are interested in care that provides small ratios with large opportunity!
Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
