Welcome to Helping Hearts and Hands Home Childcare I'm Erin a single Mommy to two children located in Longfields in Barrhaven! I am registered with a licensed agency and will be opening in August of 2017 for a maximum of 6 children, dependent on ages and needs of children.
My home environment is the right balance of age and developmentally appropriate fun as well as learning and growing together with a sense of compassion and understanding for everyone! I am very passionate about working with children - I love it! I find watching a child learn and grow to be so rewarding and have decided to leave the education field to be more present for my children but want to continue working in this field.
Credentials:
Certified Child and Youth Worker
Valid First Aid and CPR
Criminal reference check
Over 10 years experience in the education field - working with various special needs and behaviour issues
Experience working with children with mental health issues and who have been or are in CAS care
Working with children in various ways since the age of 12
Program/Activities would include:
Structured day
Circle time - stories, songs, calendar and weather
Arts and crafts - colouring, painting, cutting, gluing etc.
Field trips in the community (on foot or by bus) - parks, splash pads, playgroups, libraries
Science activities - experiments, plants etc.
Cooking and baking
Sensory play - kinetic sand, rice bins, bubbles water beads, gel bags etc.
Dramatic play - dress-up, house, tools, veterinarian, dolls etc.
Free play - cars, trucks, stuffed animals, dinosaurs, dolls etc.
Developmental activities - puzzles, sorting, patterning, alphabet, numbers, shapes, colours etc.
Environment:

Balance of dramatic and imaginary play as well as skill development/academic toys
