Katherine's Daycare at Clover Cottage will open its doors at the end of May! We have space to welcome two wee ones to join us. There is one full-time spot for a child under 2 years-of-age, and one full-time spot for a 2-4 year old. They will be joining my little ones in learning and growing every day in countless ways!
I have been an elementary school teacher for over 10 years and have had the joy of teaching in three different countries (Ireland, England and here at home) during my career thus far. I also have an additional qualification in Special Education. Too, I have my CPR and First Aid certification as well as a Vulnerable Sector Check. I have decided to leave the classroom and spend these precious, formative years with my young children and am thrilled to be welcoming two other wee ones into my home daycare.
Clover Cottage, our home, is located very centrally in Carleton Place. It is a short walk from many lovely parks and playgrounds. We share our home with our darling Labrador mix, who both my children have known since birth and adore. There is lots of learning/playing space, including a fenced, secure outdoor area. Each child attending will have their own room for Quiet Time as well. Healthy, delicious and varied meals are on the menu too, with breakfast, lunch and two snacks being provided. I know your children will enjoy Clover Cottage as much as my family does.
I have always believed as an educator and a mother that there are limitless teachable moments in a day. Your child will be provided with a wide variety of activities, including lots of child-initiated play/learning time, that will help them develop self-confidence and independence and advocate foundational skill-building. I have always loved the creative aspects of educating children. I truly believe that learning must always be exciting and fun! Most importantly children blossom when they feel safe, secure and cared for, and that's the environment I provide here.
