Hello parents,
I have always loved children… and have over 20 years of combined childcare experience in ‘pockets’ throughout my journey and career. I have taught Sunday school, I was a summer camp counsellor, a nanny, I supervised licensed, child care centres, I owned a licensed summer day camp and managed recreational programs for children and teens.
It’s interesting to me that my career has gone from childcare…to adult education (teaching) and…. back to childcare in 2015. In 2015, I subbed at various daycares in Vancouver and then decided to operate my own Family Child Care Centre which I have been doing since December 2016....the program in NEW:)
The program is ' A blend of recreation and education within a Christian framework,' meaning that values such as compassion and kindness are taught through...'teachable moments' - as with the curriculum.
We are out everyday, to a park, gym or beach and on 3 major field trips each week (the Aquarium, Stanley Park, the Zoo, Grouse Mountain, etc.)
Two snacks are included in the fees along with all the admission and transportation costs
The centre is in Fairview and open Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 5:30 with some flexibility; some weekend child care available as well (if you need to attend a wedding, move, if you need to have a date:) Hope to hear from you! Leslie, BA, Ed. Licensed ECEA, Life Skills Coach. |

The Musts:): Must be OK with my centre closures: I close for major holidays when the schools are closed (Summer, Christmas and Easter). At this time, your child must be 2ish (to befriend a 2 year old boy who already attends), be fairly easy-going, Ok with the number of major outings (12 each month), be OK with a friendly, hypoallergenic multi-poo dog, the Christian values taught...and my policies of course. It is a fun, flexible, outdoorsy program...with the occasional special event i.e. the Thomas Train in Squamish, the 'Good Day, Good Night play for toddlers, etc. |
