The Ministry of Education mandates that all kindergarten classes provide "an engaging, inquiry and play-based learning program." I would like to offer a summer camp program experience that promotes these opportunities for your child. In doing so, it may help him or her feel more confident and comfortable in school. I am really comfortable helping children ease into a new environment.
Who Am I?
My name is Sonia and I am a registered Early Childhood Educator with the College of Early Childhood Educators. I hold a bachelor's degree and a diploma with a focus on early childhood teaching. I have worked in this field for over sixteen years. I am currently employed by a school board during the school year and teach kindergarten.
What do I provide?
Access to a digital portfolio to communicate what your child is doing and learning. This can include photos and videos.
Intentional learning areas based on your child's interests, needs, and strengths (eg. block area, writing area, reading area, dramatic play area, and creative arts area)
Numeracy and Literacy opportunities embedded and adapted according to your child's learning style
Children will have opportunities to learn and practice acceptable social behaviours as well as independence, respect, and problem-solving
Clean and organized air-conditioned home with large yard
Trips to community park and centres nearby.
Opportunities to explore nature through hands-on activities (planting) and experiments.
