Hello Parents,
I am a registered Early Childhood Educator, with the College of Early Childhood Educators. My Preschool is brand new and will be ready to launch September 2017. I have five spaces available for children 18 months to 4 years of age, and I am also accepting schoolagers.
I have over fifteen years experience working with children birth to four years of age, a completed criminal reference check, CPR/First Aid training, Health and Safety training, Food Handler's training and I keep current by attending a variety of child development workshops.
The curriculum at Stepping Stones is diverse and rich in content. The children will have opportunities to engage in a complete program that incorporates weekly children's biblical literature, a program that is inquiry, objective, thematic and play based. They will be exposed to art, science, language, math, dance, journaling and much more with the intention of fostering positive social interactions, independent play, exploration and creativity.
Typically each class consists of the following components: choice time/free play, circle time, individual and group experiences, lunch , snacks, indoor and outdoor play and various enrichment experiences.
Academically, the program is designed to teach the children basic skills in numeracy and literacy through the use of educational materials. All concepts are presented in developmentally appropriate, fun and creative ways, without tears!
My strengths are: positive guidance techniques, program planning, engagement, completing useful observations and creating a happy, fun, safe and healthy atmosphere for all children to explore.
Additional teaching supports: McRuffy's Language. Comprehension and Math, Reading Eggs and Math Seeds online.
