I am a child and youth worker, mother of two boys (3&1 years old), Police clearance and first aid/cpr. I believe that children thrive with positive reinforcement and encouragement. My daily approach emphasizes teaching empathy and respect for others. I do not prescribe to centering out children. Instead, I prefer to use opportunities as teachable moments for the children to learn as a group.
Ultimately, my goal is to build a day filled with happiness and growth for your child. Nothing can replace home but I strive to create a comfortable, loving and nurturing environment so that you are able to feel good about leaving your child in my care for the day while you have a productive day at work.
The daycare is equipped with kid-sized tables and chairs for crafts and meals and has various activity stations such as a kitchen, costumes, building blocks, musical instruments, and reading corner. Activities and toys are rotated on a regular basis and are changed throughout the year depending on the season. I love to inspire learning and creativity through music and song. We do circle time every day which includes a chance for the children to share a favourite song or experience with the group. Outside, we have a fully-fenced backyard which allows for safe and fun outdoor play.
