Hearts & Heads is a home-based daycare in the Bathurst and Lawrence area, providing daytime supervision and training for children aged 12 months to 4 years.
Stella Pacaldo, Lead Caregiver, has over 15 years experience working with children from various countries and ethnic backgrounds. She began working as a caregiver in Hong Kong in 2003, after leaving her home in the Philippines, where she studied Early Childhood Education. Since then, Stella has come to Ontario and worked with families primarily in the Greater Toronto Area.
Stella's perspective on childcare is 'be firm but kind' when working with kids. She is quite sensitive to the requests of parents and incorporates their feedback into her day-to-day programming whenever possible. We offer meals and snacks and can accommodate allergies and kosher diets, as well.
The daycare's Manager, Saul Jacob, administrates and lends programming input given over 4-years of study in Developmental, Educational and Child Psychology. Our programming is intended to promote the development of intellect (IQ) as well as emotional intelligence (EQ). Programming is also highly influenced by Ministry of Education publications and industry best practices.
Hearts & Heads' location offers many outdoor activity and play options, as it is close to schools, parks and the Lawrence West subway station (10 min walk away). Stella likes to be outside as much as possible with the children she cares for, as this is often important for may aspects of child development, including socialization, discovery, imagination, play and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle.
