Description

I put your child's needs and wants on equal par with all the other children in my care. It is more like a family feel than a community care centre. Very close relationships will be formed and I will treat your child as though they are my own. Lots of hugs and cuddles and laughs.
I am very attentive to nutrition and exercise - I am a big fan of being outside and we do lots of nature walks, trips to parks and playgrounds, and even run across to the school yard to play soccer. On colder or rainier days when we may not be able to make it outside, I even encourage the kids to jump on the bed (which they absolutely love). Kids that move around are happier and sleep better - a win for them and for the parents! Homemade foods, locally sourced protein, free-range eggs, all natural peanut butters, no preservatives or artificial colours are on the menu here. But I assure you - it is all tasty! I plan the meals myself and it is something that I truly enjoy doing.
I open at 7:30 am and we have free playtime until breakfast (around 8:30 am).  Then comes another chance for group activity (circle time - books, singing, dancing, craft, sensory play) and then outside we go! We typically leave around 9:30 am and return around 12:15pm...out for walks and playgrounds (weather permitting), or to the O'Connor Public School for the drop-in program (during the school year) or the local library. I bring the kids in the Blue Beast (my 4 children stroller) and they enjoy sitting with each other as we spot cars, buses, birds, different trees, sing songs, etc.
Upon returning at 12:15 pm, I change diapers, toilet train, we all wash hands and then have lunch. In this warmer weather season, I pack lunch so we can eat al fresco on our outings. So, we may not get back here until 1:00 pm. After lunch is then afternoon nap/quiet time (from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm). After nap time, there will be snacks (3:30 pm) and then crafts, singing, books, playing together or, weather permitting, back outside and I close at 5:30 pm. Obviously, this is just a guide but each day will may be an attempt to keep as close to a routine as possible.
I do all the cooking and clean without using harsh ingredients (I mostly use vinegar, hand soap and water) and I steam my floors (only using hot water).  I cannot accommodate severe allergies for foods because, as a household, we eat nuts, dairy, shellfish, and I cannot control cross-contamination. I can accommodate food insensitivities, though.
I try to avoid any added sugars in my foods and, unless requested, I will only offer milk and water for drinks. I am responsible for breakfast, lunch, and two snacks a day (let's be honest, it could be like five snacks some days). I am happy to take requests for meal ideas, as I do know that kiddos can sometimes be stubborn when it comes to food or I can always have suggestions too!
I communicate with you...a lot, especially in the early stages of transition. I know it can be overwhelming (much more for the parents than kiddos) and I want you to feel comfortable leaving your child in my care. I use What'sApp, as I find it is the easiest and quickest way to send you bulk pictures and videos. A waiver will have to be signed for you to be okay if your kiddo is to appear in photos that I send to current parents as well, and their children will appear in photos that you receive.
I am registered with OCT, have my Vulnerable Sector Clearance (as of March 2017), First Aid recertification (January 2017) and a mom of 2. This job is my passion and I believe kiddos are the best co-workers - snacks and cuddles ease all workplace problems :).
Admission conditions
Must love pets (dog and cat on premises but do not enter the daycare space). Non-smoking parents please. No allergies. Vaccinations required.
