I am an ECE and have my Montessori Teaching Diploma, as well as a BA, with over 12 years in the ECE field working as a preschool teacher. I have a four year old who goes to SK and a 15 month old. When my oldest daughter was born I decided I wanted to be home with her and open up my own home daycare. I have been open since January 2014. Most of the families here have been with me since the beginning, the older siblings have gone to school and the younger ones are now here. I treat each child like my own and give them the love and attention they need to develop in a nurturing environment. We are like a little family here and my home is their home.
I make home made lunches; we eat healthy! I also provide two snacks a day.
The kids nap on their own individual cots at nap time or in a pack and play.
Daily outdoor play weather permitting in my fenced yard, or walks with the wagon in the neighbourhood.
Along with playing, we also do circle time and calendar/weather words every day, and follow bi-weekly themes. We do crafts, sing songs, do science experiments and sometimes bake! The kids also practice language skills, numbers/counting and fine motor skills in a Montessori-like preschool setting.
We do not watch T.V. here!
I do a newsletter quarterly and child progress reports twice a year.
I have a police check and current child/infant CPR.
