I will be offering home child care in St. Agatha, starting in January of 2018.
I have a social service background which includes extensive work with children and youth with a variety of different needs and abilities, including mental health and behaviour concerns, developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder.
I have training in, and have run the Tools for Life social skill program in several local elementary schools over the past few years and am also trained in Circle of Security attachment parenting philosophies.
My home has a large back yard which we will spend much time in when the weather cooperates. I have a vegetable garden which the children will help to tend and learn about where their food comes from. We'll take walks through the quiet neighbourhood to the local playground and spend time learning about the world around us.
Indoor time will be structured as close to a play based learning kindergarten classroom as possible, based on the ages of the children. There will be much time for free play, but also structured group and individual activities such as crafts, cooperative games and story time.
I will offer morning and afternoon snack as well as lunch, and hours will be from 7:30am-6pm from Monday to Friday.
