I have been in operation for almost 14 years and previously worked for the Calgary Board of Education as a Library Assistant and Classroom Assistant. After having two children I decided to change my career path and stay home with my children while opening our home to others and still having the immense job fulfillment of working with children.
I feel that children respond well to having routines - within reason. Our day to day routine is laid out the same way chronologically but I definitely mix things up when it comes to activities for developing fine and gross motor skills, speech, socializing, manners etc to keep things exciting for the kids.
I believe that all children are special and unique and it is my goal to provide children with a safe environment that nurtures self- esteem, security and promotes learning and growth through hands on play and discovery.
I have my current First Aid/CPR and police check. I also have my Child Assistant Certificate (formerly known as Early Childhood Education Level 1). I also have numerous certificates for workshops and courses I have taken thru various organizations but mainly the High River Parent Link Centre.
