The name of my childcare (“Art 2 Detour”) shows the focus and direction I hope to take with my centre.
I would like to help children see their world in different ways (“Detour”) by expanding their creative experiences in all areas of the arts (“Art 2”).
I feel creative expression helps create a healthy mind which in turn builds a healthy body.
The program in my childcare will focus on more “concrete-hands-on learning” approach using a variety of real objects. I feel today there is too much focus on electronics in everyday life and children still very much need more real hands on experiences.
I am eager to introduce to the children and expand their awareness of all the “arts”. There will be a lot of music and movement, creative art, drama and other visual and interactive experiences throughout my program while at the same time incorporation other curriculum areas such as Language and Literature, Science, Social Studies and Math.
I am also a professional face painter and I do offer face painting service for birthday parties and such.(www.belledesigns.ca) as well as at the centre every Friday for a special event!
Admission conditions
Although I do have a tutor license & a full ECE license, I am a strong believer that all the academic learning has to begin at kindergarten age(6) so I push children (of age under 6) more towards "play, art, and music!" than academic learning(counting 1 to 100 , read & write ABCs at preschool age) so I am eager to welcome the parents who can relate to the view of my teaching!! I can't wait to meet you !!
