My name is Lea, I am an educator specialized in early child care. I’m a French but lived in Canada for the past 8 years.
I have been working with children from 3 months to 7 years for the past 12 years and had different experiences working in daycares, dayhomes and summer camps in both France and in Canada.
When I became a mom, I decided to open my own dayhome in order to be able to spend time with my baby girl and continue to work with children as I love my job.
Learning while having fun is my motto.
I offer a program based on age appropriate activities such as art (painting, music, craft...), early learning (math, abc, colours...), fine motor skills (play-doh, blocks, craft...).
I also love to do circle time with the children. During that circle time, we talk about seasons, days, feelings... Our days are filled with songs and stories.
I give also a lot of importance to free play which is essential for children to develop there creativity and socialize and learn play with others.
We also have plenty of other group activities such as children-adapted yoga.
For special occasion we will have a party time and we celebrate birthdays and other special events. We will also develop activities based on seasonal themes (Christmas, Halloween, Easter...)
I welcome children up to 5 years old. Our multi-age group is a lot of fun and offers a lots of benefits. The little ones learn from the older ones and the older ones learn to be patient and careful as they play with and teach the little ones.
Weather permitting we will spend a lot of time outside performing outdoor activities and playing in the backyard and at the park nearby (becoming a splash park during the summer).
I use positive discipline to interact with the kids and encourage them to be positive by giving lots of hugs and love. I will provide a bilingual environment to the children speaking both english and french so that they understand everything while getting the opportunity to learn another language.
