Hello fellow parents,
I have been a Licensed Nurse, working in intergenerational settings for the last 10 years. My passion is children and the elderly. I believe we all need one another to grow, learn and get the most out of life. I have spent the last 10 years working and teaching in the Long Term Care setting and have been both staff nurse as well as educator and manager. Prior to obtaining my nursing license i was a successful nanny for many years and have since seen those children grow into wonderful adults. My family has recently relocated back to Ontario after living and working in Saskatchewan for the last 5 years. Iam eager to begin life back home where my roots are planted.
I believe that its pretty tough as a parent finding someone or somewhere that you feel is good enough for your precious little one(s), i know it was tough for me when i did it 5 years ago.
My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, loving and fun, inclusive environment that makes everyone feel like family. Children are such a blessing and they deserve to feel accepted and included.
I do have extensive experience with individuals with brain injuries, intellectual disabilities and special behaviour needs and supports.
This can all be discussed on a child to child basis.
My home is large and very spacious with lots of room to play and exercise. Seperate rooms for successful napping as well as a large kitchen and 2 bathrooms. We have a private backyard with plenty of grass and space to play.
My family has a lovely 1 year old dog who is a nanny herself in that she adores children and keeping everyone safe.
My daughter is recently starting school for the first time and I am wondering how to be available for her in the mornings and evenings while still being able to feel fulfilled in caring for others. And what better way to feel like your doing some good then having those little arms wrapped around your neck? :)
I'm excited to meet you and I welcome any questions or communication that you might have.
