Welcome to Garden Blossoms Day Care. Located at the south east area of Cambridge (Galt), I run av very busy, fun and nurturing child care day that involves -
-School escorts by car, or by foot for students in the surrounding area
-Excursions to local community centre programs, libraries and parks. ( on hold due to Covid 19)
- The idea exchange summer reading program, and other drop in or registered programs. ( on hold due to Covid 19)
-Home library volunteer reading visitor when schedules permit ( on hold due to Covid 19)
-Use of a playground inside my safe family-oriented complex with lots of pine trees around it providing lots of natural items for steam learning, and frequent walks to explore nature along nature trails all around the neighbourhood's perimeter. (playground apparatuses not being used temporarily due to Covid 19)
-Age appropriate learn through play based curriculum with an evolving "highscope"approach that allows children opportunities for imaginative sensory and creative learning.
-Free play time activities that are based in the downstairs playroom ( with connecting bathroom) and in the main floor kitchen area which include age appropriate toys, books, puzzeles, creative lego bins, dress up clothes, and art and craft station, games, black board walls, curriculum support books and activities. ( As many toys and activities are separated and labeled into individual sets and all used items are regularly sanitized daily)
-Daily creative art
-Occasional baking
Region coordinated playgroup and events
-Music,sing songs and dance
- The benefits of interaction with my family ( socially distanced) I have two children. A 14 year old boy who children share many laughs with, and a 17 year old daughter who the kids all are very fond of.
-Naps for infants and toddlers and a quiet period for older children without the use of electronic devices
-Meals and snacks based on the Canada Food Guide
according to each child's schedule. Breakfast before school can be included no later then 7am. A daily menu and activity summary are posted in the front entrance.
My pet and smoke free home is given a quarterly safety inspection. I am licenced and certified by the Region of Waterloo In Home Child Care with 15 years experience, and 21 years experience doing special needs support. My education is in Social work and Social development. I keep my knowledge base and skills current by attending annual workshops put on by the Region.
I keep my Standard First Aid and CPR up to date.
I keep my rates the same as the region rates to provide access and affordability. My full time rates are $43 for infants, $41 for toddlers, $39for preschoolers and $37 for school aged children. My part time rates in the same age ordering are $27 $25, $23, and $21. I ALSO PROVIDE SUBSIDIZED CARE AND ONE LIST CARE AS A CONTRACTED PROVIDER WITH THE REGION OF WATERLOO IN HOME CHILD CARE PROGRAM.
I currently have space for one part time child of school age beginning in September. I accept ages 7 months through 10 years old. I currently do not have any pets nor does any one smoke in my home. For more information and photos please visit me at my face book page @SDGBDC |
