Hi my name is Chelci Smith and I’ve been running my home daycare since December 2018. I have two kiddos of my own that I’m crazy about and who have inspired me to make caring for them and others my career. I will be doing remote learning for my 4 year old who is enrolled with Castor Valley. I currently have 6 including my own in my care and have some friends off to school. We are hoping for one more friend over the age of 1 to join us or a remote learner looking to learn in a low ratio environment.
As I will be doing remote learning I will always focus my learning on play but will be introducing a some preschool structure and formal learning to my program.
I love to cook and the kids eat a variety of beloved children’s favorites (grilled cheese) to my favorite recipes they seem to always love too (butter chicken anyone?). I believe everything in moderation is important and love to keep it real. I want everyone’s experience to feel like the comfort of their own home.
We frequently go for walks around my quiet street and look for animals, trees and other exciting things in the area. My formal education is in Earth Science and I always find ways to bring that background to my work. I am always encouraging learning about nature with the kids. When we don’t walk we go outside daily in my large yard. I have toys for all ages, a big play structure for the older kids, water/sand table, lots of cars, trucks and ride on toys. We also are learning about gardening and how plants grow and the kids will have the benefit of harvesting this fall.
We offer:
Hours of 7-4pm (5pm during non COVID). Future possibility of before/after school care if that is what you need - as covid evolves. Busses for local schools run right by the house daily. I can confirm Castor Valley and I’m sure there are others.

I have record check and Standard C level CPR. As stated above I have two children of my own and we are a smoke free, no current pets, but a pet friendly home. Let me know if you might like to come join us and we can discuss further. References available.
