Our mission at Ambleside Montessori is to contribute to the cultivation of a healthy body and mind and a positive attitude in your child. Freedom, choice and the ability to move are all an integral part of our program. The classroom is a carefully prepared learning environment, filled with varied, stimulating Montessori activities that encourage children to learn and discover individually and at their own pace.
Parents should understand that a Montessori school is a unique cycle of learning designed to take advantage of the child’s sensitive years between one to six, where they can absorb information from an enriched environment. A child who acquires the basic skills of reading and arithmetic in this natural way has the advantage of beginning their education without drudgery, boredom and discouragement. By pursuing individual interests in a childcare facility, one gains an early enthusiasm for learning, which plays a key role in future happiness and success.
It is vital to enjoy learning and to have a purpose, but it is imperative to have fun along the way too. We do not want to stifle our children’s spirit. As a result, our days focuses on providing the attention necessary for children to reach their fullest potential in a secure and harmonious setting.
We offer specialty classes for students to partake in on a weekly basis including music, yoga and French lessons.
Our staff, facilities and enriching curriculum meet Early Child Education, BC Ministry of Education and District of West Vancouver licensing requirements and guidelines.
Our team hold a variety of required degrees and certifications alongside criminal record checks, First Aid and ongoing professional development training required for all adults working with children.
