Nicole Granziol's Home Childcare is located in the core of St Thomas, Ontario.
Did you know that 90% of a child's brain growth occurs between the ages of 0-5?
As a dedicated daycare provider, and an experienced mother of 5, I believe in helping children to grow and flourish by fostering an environment that emphasizes: learning through exploration, independence, curiosity, freedom within limits, imagination, and respect for the child. I believe that patience, boundaries, kindness, and respect are the best path towards helping young children develop emotional maturity and self-regulation skills.
In my smoke-free, pet-free home, in a beautiful, mature residential neighborhood in central St Thomas, I provide care for infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers, and young school aged children. Our days are filled with learning opportunities, comfort, and fun! We enjoy a regular rotation of arts & crafts, story-time (including reading and pre-reading for older children), imaginative play (including dress-up and pretend), music and dancing, building and early mathematics, nature and community walks, field trips, and circle time. We also visit the local public library and our local playground & park several times per week (weather permitting).
I also believe that free, unstructured, child-led play is imperative for healthy brain and body development - so we are sure to leave time for that every single day! Providing opportunities for child-led exploration and facilitating creative unstructured play are some of my favourite parts of being a daycare provider!
My hours of operation are 6:30am-5:00pm Monday to Friday, and I offer healthy vegetarian (or vegan, on request) snacks twice daily, as well as a healthy and delicious vegetarian (or vegan) lunch.
My home daycare is inclusive of all families and children, and our group daycare activities and curriculum focus greatly on inclusivity, peace, and acceptance of others.
As your daycare provider, you can rest assured that I will:
-Keep your children safe
-Respect boundaries
-Provide healthy vegetarian snacks and meals
-Support parent breastfeeding, if applicable
-Send daily updates and photos of your child's activities
-Provide a report of daily foods for allergen tracking
-Have an open-door policy for all parents & primary caregivers
-Maintain open and honest communication with parents/guardians
-Provide an intellectually challenging and emotionally encouraging environment for your children
-Provide outdoor time everyday, throughout the year (weather permitting - excluding extreme heat or cold)
