Hello! I am a mom of three and a Play Advisor with Discovery Toys! I strongly believe in Learn Through Play and that almost every life skill and educational skill can be introduced through fun play time. I run my daycare program much like a preschool program. Days have a structured routine and I work on different subjects such as science, geography, health & safety and math in a fun, play-based way. All subjects are based on ages 1 - 4 years.
I live in an apartment but have no neighbors aside from the two stores below me. While I don't have a backyard, I do have a large deck that is used for outdoor fun! I also get children outside by going for walks or heading to the park / Conversation Area.
I provide breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. I do a lot of baking so children always have something fresh and yummy! I will also shop for local produce so there will always be fresh fruits and veggies! A day at Miss J's Tot Spot also includes crafts, activities, nap/quiet time, circle time, messy play, outdoor time/outdoor activities, independent play, science units and educational play. A monthly newsletter goes home with children to show parents what kind of fun days are coming up and a Daily Communication Folder is provided and filled out each day your little one comes to child care. We also go on monthly field trips to places like the Fire Department!
The toys provided are 95% Discovery Toys and your child will get to be among the FIRST to try out new toys as they are ordered! These toys are kid-powered, non-violent, educational and truly grow along with children. I offer children plenty of play opportunities and for those who show an interest in a more academic level, I have lots of opportunities for them as well!
I offer full time care, part time care, temporary care, drop in care, date night care & before & after school care.
