I have one full-time space available for a child 11 months - 22 months of age for September 2025. I am looking for a family seeking long term care.
I am a career child care provider Registered with Westcoast Childcare who has operated a small family child care in my home since 2012. My apartment is child and cat friendly, as well as cozy and bright! I am located in the West End on Smithe and Thurlow.
A little bit about me: I LOVE children! I have been working in the childcare field for the last fifteen years and I really enjoy what I do! My experience includes; owning and operating my in home childcare, teaching and tutoring children ESL, working in group and family child care centers, and many years of being a 'Super' Nanny! I have recently renewed my childcare first aid and have had a criminal record check. I also have excellent references. I provide fun, age appropriate activities in a safe and nurturing environment!
I am very active and enjoy taking the children out on field trips daily. We enjoy going to Stanley Park, the Aquarium, frequenting community and family place drop-ins, visiting libraries, taking the Aquabus to Granville Island, the Sea Bus to Lonsdale Quay, the bus to Maplewood Farm and having fun at Science World! I also like to enroll the children in a couple of fun classes at the local community center, (music and gymnastics are a couple of our favorites so far).
Our inside activities include; circle time, baking, reading, doing arts and crafts, learning through play, as well as singing and dancing.
My childcare is child led play based. I am always involving the children in decisions on what we play or where we go out for our activities! I feel it's important for the children to have a voice in what their day entails.
I have a kind, caring, gentle, twelve year old daughter. She is very social and interacts well with others. She really looks forward to having her child care friends join us in our day! I will care for two little ones at a time therefore ensuring quality time is spent with each child. I am currently caring for a sweet and happy 12 month old boy, and would love to have another child to join us on our adventures!
My hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:55. My daily rate of $105.00 includes; healthy, often organic, kid friendly snacks and lunches, regular field-trip admissions, transit fees, diapers, wipes and sunscreen. All you need to bring is a change of clothes!
