I offer a home-based daycare service with a full kitchen, full living room sized play area , individual nap rooms and varying indoor activities for inclement weather days. I am a registered Early Childhood educator and graduated from Algonquin College with Honours. I am level C certified in first aid and have my vulnerable sector police check conducted annually. Before opening my daycare I was a supply ECE in various child care centres and the Ottawa Catholic School Board as well as completed three full time field placements. The Learning Tree Home Daycare has been open since July 2020 and has been a wonderful change for our family!
I provide breakfast and afternoon snack for children who are in before and after school care and provide breakfast, two snacks and lunch to the children who are with me for full days.
I have several learning areas set up in our play space as well as guided crafts, activities and learning experiences for children based on age.
I want to create a fun and developmentally appropriate play area. I am well equipped with toys and resources that I can rotate when I see the children working on new skills !
Toy rotation is an excellent method to use to keep children intrigued and busy during during the day. Each week I change our toy and play areas based on the needs and abilities of the children.
Allowing lots of space for them to learn grow and play will allow them to develop self help skills, fine motor and gross motor skills, social skills and many more.
We have a private yard in the back with a swing set, a playhouse, a mud kitchen, a climber, several trucks / toys and lots of room to run and play! We make several trips outdoors to explore our beautiful yard when the weather permits. I actively check the weather and encourage outdoor play with lots of options for children varying in age and encourage parents to send weather appropriate clothing for each season. We do go out if it is raining (not heavily).
I strongly believe in celebrating diversity. I encourage this by incorporating various toys and books that help children understand we are all different and that’s a great thing! I do my best to incorporate varying holidays and traditions from around the world in both our library and our art experiences.
We are a completely smoke-free home.
My before and after school care price is: $22.00 per day per child and $45.00 per child per day for full time care.
Please not the daycare will be closed August 7th-28th 2023 for family holiday.

Admission conditions
Must be tolerable of animals as we do have a golden retriever and a house cat. They will not be in the play areas indoors but will be in the house.
Both pets are neutered, up to date on vaccines and very docile.
