J & P Private Dayhome
Out of house care: for outdoor play time, we request sunscreen for all children during
summer season. For winter season we request proper winter wear (coat, mittens, hat,
snowsuit, etc)
Water bottles: all parents are asked to bring a water bottle per each child at this dayhome.
Water is filtered daily, we do not use tap water for children. Water bottles are filled up often
Change of clothing: a spare outfit is requested by the dayhome. In the case of an accident
we may need to change your child's clothing.
Feeding: meals and snacks are included. Healthy meals are cooked daily by one of our staff.
We do have the occasional pizza day for the dayhome! Menus are made available daily to
parent(s)
Cleaning and sanitizing: Dayhome is cleaned and sanitized daily, throughout the day and at
the very end of the day. Dayhome is cleaned and sanitized with water and vinegar to reduce
allergic reactions. All surfaces are wiped down and floors vacuumed and mopped daily. With
COVID-19 toys are sanitized after usage.
Pet friendly home: this dayhome is pet friendly and we encourage children to carefully
handle our animals. Reduces anxiety and boosts happiness. Contains 1 siberian husky, 1
chihuahua, 2 short hair cats and quails (yes! Your children get to see how poultry birds work
and get to harvest eggs!!) Our animals are part of our dayhome schedule. children do not
have unsupervised access to pets
Smoking: Smoking is not permitted during hours that children are being cared for. Smoking
is not permitted at any time or in any place where children are being cared for, including
off-site activities and during field trips or other program related activities. Smoke-free
dayhome.
Hand washing: children and staff are asked to wash their hands after every meal, activity,
bathroom, etc. With Covid-19 we ask children and staff to wash hands more frequently.
Bilingual Dayhome: French and English dayhome. We speak the language your child needs.
This dayhome is equipped with a bilingual staff who speak and write in French and English.
Diapering: Parents are responsible to provide the dayhome diapers, wipes and cream or
powder. We also ask parents to supply a day worth of diapers for the dayhome to keep in
case a parent forgets or we run out.
Behavior management: when a child needs to be disciplined at the dayhome, we use the
time out method according to age.
Managing serious incidents: if a serious accident occurs at this dayhome, 911 will be called.
Parents will be called immediately after. If no answer the emergency contact will be
contacted.
Administration of medications: if a child needs medication we do request a note from parents
with direction for medication including amount, time of, if side effects, etc.
Backup care: this day home is runned at all time with 2 childcare staff. If staff is sick,
replacement is called.
Emergency evacuation procedures for providers: incase of emergency staff and children are
evacuated to a staffs home.
Reporting of communicable diseases: COVID -19, if a case arises in this dayhome. We will
close for 72h. During these hours the dayhome will get cleaned and sanitized. All parents will
be informed of the case without disclosing names.

Application and placement of children: parents must fill an application for each child enrolling
in this dayhome. This form contains all the information needed for staff to care for your child.
Drop-in: drop ins are accepted at this dayhome. Parents must give us a 20 minute warning
before drop off.
Fees: (all extended hours are $15/h)
Full time - $50 full day 8am-5pm
Part-time - $30 half day 8am-12pm or 12pm-5pm
Drop in - $10/h |
