About me Gima Yee
I am a 42 year old mother of two boys, 9 and 6 year old and I am the current owner operator/manager of Sapperton Child Care. I have worked as a caregiver baby sitter for 20+ years with different families. My last 5 years as a live in caregiver baby sitter, they treated me as family in return for how I cared and loved their kids as my own kids. This is before I started my own family. I have a wide variety of experience and many tools to help support different types of children. I have received my Good Beginnings Certificate (Level 1 & 2) from Child Care Options Resource and Referral Program at Surrey, BC. I also have certificates in Emergency Child Care First Aid/AED/ CPR, Food Safe, and an up to date criminal record check.
Philosophy
We believe that children should feel comfortable and “at home” when they are at our Child Care . A loving, learning environment is key to the healthy development of a child. Being a small group, we will be able to give the children individual attention and gear activities to their interests as follows:
• Children on our care will be encouraged to learn and to practice many physical and social skills.
• Outings and field trips to walking distance or nearby places will interest the children and spark curiosity and awareness of the world
• Children learn through play so we will promote a wide variety of activities including sports activities and opportunities for them to have free play both indoors and outdoors.
We will do the activities above on a routine and consistent manner throughout the week as we believe these are very important to the children. The children feels secure in an environment when they know what to expect on any given day. A structured, yet flexible schedule will be what we endeavor to achieve.
