Full time home childcare through subsidized government agency (Toronto Early Learning & Home Child Care Services). Private care is also available through direct contact.
I have been a home child care for 20+ years and am permitted to care for 6 children (max) in my home. I have experience caring for children from the age of 3 months to 5 years. My care provides children the opportunity to adapt and grow in a learning environment through various activities and disciplines.
The following practices are some examples included within daily activities:
Creative learning: arts and crafts activities allowing children to use their imagination.
Sensory learning: providing children with water and sandbox play.
Cognitive learning: Daily activities that include using puzzles, blocks, board games, picture cards and etc.
Science/nature & cooking: opportunities to plant seeds, science projects such as mixing colours and compounds, bake cookies my mixing the ingredients and more.
Language and literacy: Daily story time allowing children to listen and daily reading time allowing children to choose their own books and stories to read.
Pretend play: Daily activities to dress and play, put together their own narratives and participate in show and tells.
Active and outdoor play: Daily outdoor play such as playing at the park, backyard, etc.
Community experience: Visiting Early On centres where children can meet and play with other children, participate in group activities and more.
Along with these activities, children are provided snacks and lunch, nap time, potty training, and more.
Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
