‘Boomgaard’ is a Dutch word meaning ‘support to new lives’. As we acknowledge the importance of a supportive environment and positive interactions in the early years of children, this name itself conveys our belief and philosophy.
Program statement:
We believe in a balance between ‘nature’ and ‘nurture’ developmental concepts. We create a stimulating learning environment where children explore their potential to meet their developmental needs. Our program philosophy is to create positive relationships with children, families, and communities to establish an enriched learning community in collaboration. We design and offer programs that provide comfort to families with the knowledge that their children will be cared for and nurtured in an inclusive setting where individualities and diversities will be acknowledged, appreciated, and embraced. Our child care program provides ample developmentally age-appropriate opportunities for children to have hands-on experiences through play, environment, and meaningful interactions.
Our vision is to provide a safe and active environment where all children can have fun and have opportunities to embark on their natural desire to learn, grow, and discover themselves.
Our program statement framework
At Boomgaard Early Learning & Child Care, the program is designed with a blend of a variety of child developmental philosophies and curriculum styles (like Play-based, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, STEAM, and project-based) to maximize each child’s potential. We have a strong belief that only one curriculum style is not enough to meet all the children’s needs and potential. We have taken bits and pieces from all the above philosophies to create our program.
We observe, follow, and document each child’s specific skills in regards to physical, cognitive, socio-emotional, language & literacy development daily using ‘ELECT’ document designed by the Children’s Ministry of Ontario.
The following are the salient features of our program:
● Strategize and create positive-authentic learning environments and experiences to support each child’s learning and holistic development. It includes both learning experiences; child-centered and driven by the child’s interests with as much exposure to real-life learning.
● Foster the children’s exploration, play, and inquiry positively by incorporating a balance between free play and structured play.
● Focus on respect for all children and families and have a sense of equity through inclusion.
● Believe in creating healthy communication and warm interactions between staff and parents.
● Understand a hundred languages of children and encourage them to express themselves in a variety of ways and a variety of contexts.
● Engage children with the local community, giving and receiving support when needed.
● Ensure that all children are adequately supervised.
● Celebrate children´s process of learning using ongoing documentation.

Boomgaard is an In-home multi age child care facility which is licensed for maximum 8 children at a time. |
