We operate Cradles-2-Crayons Family Daycare from our child-friendly home southwest of Stratford, west of Avonton. It is a rural daycare in a lovely park-like setting. A large tree-lined yard that is excellent for picnics and group activities.
Every morning we offer an age-appropriate curriculum, Kidcrafters, to Preschoolers. Infants and Toddlers learn best through play using person to person interaction, toys, and equipment that enhance their developmental and cognitive abilities. We provide weekly themes that is used to guide the children's activities. We also change the bulletin boards monthly to coincide with holidays and/or seasons. The Parent Information Board located at the entrance keeps everyone informed of anything new and interesting. The Daily Report that is sent home with each child, or the private Google Calendar, tells about their day, physically, socially and emotionally. We provide lunch (servings from all 4 food groups) and 2 snacks (servings from 2-3 food groups) as per Canada’s Food Guide recommendations for young, active and developing children. Our website is updated regularly with upcoming themes and events taking place here at daycare and in the community.
Open communication between the child, the parents, and the caregiver is very important as it teaches the values they will need as they grow.
I am certified in Standard First Aid CPR Level C and Crisis Prevention training. I also have a clear OPP Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check including the Pardoned Sexual Offenders Database. I have completed a 2 year program at Conestoga College to receive my Educational Assistant Certificate. I have also received certification in Family Child Care Training. |

Cradles-2-Crayons Family Daycare is a smoke-free, but not pet-free environment. We do have 2 lazy cats and a small Shih-Tzu dog as members of our family.
I have 5 children of my own, 3 still living at home, ranging in age 22-11 years. They attend school and are home during breaks, PA Days, etc.
All of us here want to welcome you to our family! |
