Finding proper care for your children while you are away at work or school can be a very stressful and time provoking journey! Every parent wants to know that their child is safe, loved, and happy when they are not present. I too had the same problem. I have a 19 month old daughter of my own and one of my most defeating moments was trying to place her in a daycare or dayhome environment. That's why I chose to run my own dayhome - now I can stay home with my child and provide the kind of dayhome that I wanted my child to have all along!
I am located in Scenic acres - for those of you that aren't familiar with that area it's It is bounded to the north by Crowchild Trail, to the east by Nose hill Drive, to the west by Stoney Trail and to the south by the Bow River.
It's a very safe and quiet area. Our neighbors on both sides of us are older families - both are sweet and friendly.
One of the big things I was looking for when I was looking for childcare for my daughter was quality time and stimulating and fun & educational activities. Some of the activities we do with the children include coloring (and coloring races and contests - everyone is a winner!), playdoo (homemade and store bought!), puzzles, building forts (and playing in them), reading (to the children and letting them try to read to us!), crafts of all shapes and sizes, painting, music and dance, etc... We have all kinds of toys, building objects, and teddy bears. I like to keep a balance between the fun and stimulating toys as well as the educational toys that will keep their little brains ticking (it's actually quite amazing how quickly children pick up their alphabets or numbers when they think they are merely playing with a toy!) Our main objective is to provide the children with quality care, and a comfortable, safe and stimulating environment. We focus alot on how the children are interacting with each other (as social behaviour is very important and is more effectively taught at a younger age.) We like to enforce manner and respect (for example if the children ask for something you will hear from us, "and what is the magic word(s)?") We also focus alot on sharing. I enjoy my job so much that I have decided to make a career out of it and am planning on pursueing my early childhood development course. This is my dayhome, I am more about comforting the parents then seeking out the cash - caring for the children then looking at them as dollar signs!
All meals, snacks and beverages are included in our rate for over 2 years. Parents with children under need to provide supplies and babyfood. I have my current First Aid & CPR Level B certified, Welfare Checked, Health examined & Police clearance.

All children are enrolled on the basis of a personal interview between the parent and the provider.
The following forms must be completed and on file prior to a child’s enrolment:
Signed and dated contract
Day Home Family and Medical Information
Day Home Registration Form
Day Home consent forms
Current Immunization Record and a copy of Alberta Health Care copy
First months fee
1 Spot available on full time basis (Monday-Friday 6a-6p)
Rate
$650 for Children under 2 yrs of age
$600 for Children over 2 yrs of age. |
