My home daycare is located in the Fallingbrook (Charlemagne/Merkley) area of Orleans. Hours are 6:45 am to 5:00 pm. I do not take school age children, so no bus runs required.
I am trained as an elementary school teacher, have taken several Early Childhood courses and have experience with children with special needs, including a child of my own.
Our days are flexible, and learning is geared to the developmental level and interests of each child. We enjoy a main floor playroom so that our play and learning begin as soon as the first child arrives. Books and reading play an important part in our day. The feltboard is used extensively in our lessons and the children enjoy the many learning resources I have created for them. This way I can tailor the learning to meet the goals set for each child. We have blocks of child directed play as well as times when we learn together. The furnishing that can be easily arranged/adapted to accommodate the ages of those in care. The cabinets hold our extra toys for quick change-outs as interests develop as well as provide a magnetic surface for play.
Large deck with playhouse and riding cars as well as fenced yard for outside play. No pets, no pool.
