Hello Parent's!!!
A bit about myself and what I have to offer as a childcare provider, I am the mother of two wonderful little boys and have been living in Waterdown now for 3 years. I have been doing home daycare for 4 years and love every moment of it.
Each day we do daily outings, weather permitting of course, to places like the park, splash pad, walks in the neighbourhood or in the woods nearby, play dates with other providers in the area or play in my fenced in back garden. I have a sand box, water table, ride on toys, a Dora house, two slides and lots of little toys for the children to play with in my back garden. Each year we tend to a garden that we planted ourselves from seeds. This year we were trying to grow pumpkins, beans, raspberries, squash, cucumbers and tomatoes, but the hot dry weather during the summer made it harder this year, so our crop was less then expected. :(
I have a quad stroller to get around so that the littler children do not have to walk everywhere we go. My home backs onto Guy B Brown Public School so we have access to play in the field and I am within a 20-minute walk of 4 parks.
I do theme days as well each month, we have had mix match Monday, Teddy bear's picnic, PJ Day, Backwards Day, Doll Tea Parties and little parties for special occasions during the year, I.E. Easter Party, Birthday Parties, Mother's Day Tea Party, Father's Day Root Beer Float, Christmas etc. We do lots of crafts here as well, but have dedicated every Thursday to what we call "Craft Thursday" where we make something for our parents.
I provide two snacks and a lunch eat day. I cook the lunch using fresh ingredients and can provide organic meals as well if that is something you follow at home.
The main area of my daycare is in my basement, I have dedicated the entire basement to my daycare so that I can provide some of the larger toys for the children. We have a train table, walk-in kitchen, lots of ride on toys and a big play house. The basement consists of two rooms and a bathroom; one large playroom with the majority of the toys and the other one is what we call the craft/reading room. We are not limited to the basement and I have some toys upstairs in my family room for the children to play with while I prepare snacks and lunch, change diapers, potty breaks etc.
